New Face – Carly

Carly walked into my photography studio here in Grand Rapids with a huge smile and lots of energy. As a new model looking to begin her portfolio, she was eager to get to work. We spilled out her wardrobe onto the racks and sent Carly into hair and make-up with our good friend Hanna Wagner. Carly was set to do the full 4 look portfolio photo shoot. From light and simple, to a smoldering beauty, we wanted to show multiple sides of the young, new model. Enjoy! -JM

New Face Amaia

Here is new face, Amaia. She is young and naturally beautiful, but it is her eyes that truly stand out. They are her most striking feature. Here are the final images from her recent portfolio photo shoot, shot at my studio here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Enjoy! -JM

New Face – Thell

Fun and full of energy, not to mention her big curly hair… Thell’s photo shoot was a joy! She was laid back and comfortable in front of the lens, especially considering her young age. With a great start to her portfolio and the great vibes, she’s sure to be successful. Her big smile is infectious. Given how easy she was to work with, I’m pretty sure we finished her portfolio shoot in record time. She delivered her energy frame after frame, making it easy for me to capture some great images.

In these images you can see her heart shining through. You just wanna be there smiling along with her. Enjoy! JM

New Face – Chelsea

I am so grateful for how busy I have been lately! But along with the busy, has to come my apologies for the length of time it has taken me to turn some images around. Thankfully, Chelsea is an easy going gal! And considering how stunning the images turned out, I hope they were worth her wait.

Chelsea’s white-blonde hair and stunning eyes were a great focus for our photo shoot. Her family was fun, and easy to get along with. Chelsea was versatile and ready to accomplish her four looks with ease. Most of our looks were shot in the studio, although it was just warm enough to capture one look outside… personally those were my favorite images from our shoot. Enjoy! -JM

New Face – Breann

The photo shoot with new Matthew Agency model Breann was easy enough with a laid back model, great weather, and a conveniently available mound of balloons. But it wasn’t until I began retouching her images today that I truly realized how easy shooting Breann ultimately turned out to be!

Of course, I’m speaking of her flawless complexion! Barely a blemish in sight, and hardly any work for me to do in post production. Even the most brilliant of models will need a little touch-up when zoomed in to 100%, but here, it was barely necessary. With all things considered, I am very proud to introduce this new fresh face, and to have shot her new portfolio images. Enjoy! -JM

New Face – Julie

This is not Julie’s first time in front of a camera. Modeling was a fond memory for her, until she decided to give it another go after her recent visit to the Matthew Agency. And now, it’s time for some new memories as a Matthew Agency model.

Julie has a great commercial look, friendly and warm. Her smile lights up the room, and she was more than a pleasure to photograph. Our photo shoot had been delayed, which was VERY much my fault, and yet she was so kind and accommodating. Getting back into something like modeling after many years away is not at ALL like riding a bike. Shaking off the nerves, she jumped in with both feet. I hope she enjoyed getting back in front of the lens as much as her smiles suggested. I know I enjoyed having her there. Enjoy! -JM.

New Face – Alek

Alek is young… younger than his looks portray. He is slightly reserved, but already exudes a natural force and strength in his presence. Our photo shoot was his first. He was quiet and controlled, both in front of the lens and between set-ups, but was extremely easy to work with because of it. I’m excited to see what is to come from him. As his confidence grows as a model, I believe he will mature into the looks he’s already been gifted… and then he will be a force to be reckoned with!

New Face – Marcel

Here is another great new addition to the Matthew Agency family of models, Marcel. From what I gathered of him, Marcel is a calm man of few words, but a killer gaze. My guess, from that devilish glint in his eye, is that he probably has a bit of a mischievous side, but that’s only a guess. He came in with some ideas of specific things he wanted to try, and was definitely not shy in front of the camera. He knew how to work various angles, and kept the shoot interesting by constantly changing things up. I love when a model has the confidence to lead himself without relying completely on the photographer for direction. The ultimate collaboration produces phenomenal results, such as these images here! Matthew Kids! – Sophia

Recently, the Matthew Agency has expanded into the somewhat dangerous world of Children Models! Sophia is one of the first kids (other than my very own blood relatives) that I have photographed in some time! Although, I’m not sure she strictly qualifies as a “kid.” Sophia is a fun, bubbly, non-stop-smiles kind of girl. Just shy of being old enough for the Matthew Agency Model division, she’s already confident and comfortable in front of the lens. Bright and friendly, she was an absolute joy to work with, and her joy shines through in her images. Enjoy! -JM

New Face – Dasmyn

Tall, dark, gorgeous, with legs for DAYS! Dasmyn is just stepping into her own spotlight as a model. With an infectious smile, and perfectly long and slender limbs, I would guess that is a step in the right direction! The photo shoot couldn’t have gone more smoothly, as we clicked away look after look! Dasmyn was a joy to work with. Elegant and friendly, she is right at home in front of the lens! Enjoy! -JM
